The Leadership, Advancement, and Development (LAD) Academy is a central hub that offers programs and resources supporting our faculty throughout their careers, from the time of hire up to the time our faculty are ready to retire. Programs are available regardless of academic rank, career stage, professional pathway or discipline.
I truly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the Leadership Advancement Development program. It provided the space and time to connect with colleagues from diverse departments to reflect upon how our strengths can be leveraged to enhance our effectiveness in several aspects of our professional lives, and to do so with the support of skilled coaches.

I love what I do and consider myself a K-faculty mentor (I am known as the co-developer of project BioEYES that brings live zebrafish to classrooms all around the world to excite kids about science). My lab uses the optically clear zebrafish larvae to better understand human lipid processing. The engineer in me enjoys fixing stuff in both the lab and at home (e.g., from microscopes to my dishwasher control board).
